The municipality of Novo Goražde covers an area of 123 square kilometers and consists of thirty larger settlements with approximately 3,200 inhabitants. It is located in the center of the Gornja Drina region, and is located below the eastern slopes of Jahorina at an altitude between 335 and 1,300 meters above sea level.
It borders the municipalities of Višegrad, Čajniče, Rogatica, Foča and the town of Goražde.
This distinctly hilly mountainous region is located at the crossroads of roads that have been visited, traded, and fought for centuries. Novo Goražde is a small point on the geographical map of the world where significant and important roads and rivers intersect.
Goražde was mentioned as a trading center and urban settlement, most directly related to the Dubrovnik caravan trade, in 1379, and as an open city in 1444. The medieval fortress of Samobor, the tower of Herceg Stefan Vukčić Kosača is most responsible for the origin, survival and development of this region. Two years later, in 1446, Herceg Stefan built the church of St. George ten kilometers upstream, in Donja Sopotnica. In the period from 1519 to 1521, there was a Cyrillic printing house (Štamparija Božidar Goraždanin), the second oldest in the Balkans, and the first in today’s Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina..
- BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Ustiprača eco camp is a program for the development of the tourist offer of the municipality of Novo Goražde, through the establishment and construction of a catering facility, bungalows for accommodation, the establishment of a car park with accompanying infrastructure (systems for charging campers with electricity, drinking water, as well as a system for emptying waste water, parking spaces). and arrangement and construction of sanitary facilities, shower cabins, places for tent camping, fishing paths next to the camp, and other facilities aimed at forming a quality offer for visitors and stay.
The original tourist offer would be supplemented with kayaking and similar facilities that would make Ustiprača an indispensable place on the tourist map.
- PROJECT DETAILS
5.1. WHAT TYPE OF PROJECT IS IT?
Eco camp Ustiprača belongs to greenfield projects, both because of its purpose and because of the project idea itself.
The mentioned location of the project is owned by the Municipality of Novo Goražde.
5.2. PROJECT STATUS
The Ustiprača Eco Camp project is part of the capital investments of the municipality of Novo Goražde, adopted by the Municipal Assembly, and is currently in the development phase. The first part of the project activities has started, and it refers to the development of the mentioned location and the construction of the fishing path, as well as the rehabilitation of the access road and already built auxiliary facilities.
The project documentation of the Ustiprača Eco Camp is being prepared..
5.3. REASONS TO INVEST IN THE PROJECT
The commercial interest of investors can be achieved through a public-private partnership of a mountain catering facility and bungalows, which will operate within the Eco Camp and thus form a fully rounded tourist offer with a variety of content.

6.1. ESTIMATED PROJECT VALUE IN €
The current planned value of the Ustiprača Eco Camp is €75,000.00.
6.2. PLANNED SOURCES OF FINANCING
Planned sources of funding are from the municipality of Novo Goražde, EU funds, public-private partnership.
6.3. INPUT BY LOCAL PARTNER
So far, €7,000 has been invested for cleaning the site, works on the adaptation of the access road.
6.4. INPUT BY INVESTOR
Expected investments of €25,000-30,000 for the construction of a catering facility and accommodation facilities.
