4. BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Public utility stud farm Vučijak is the only stud farm of Lippizaners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and together with Lipica stud farm in Slovenia and stud farm Djakovo and Lipik in the Republic of Croatia and stud farm Karadjordjevo in Serbia, its function is to preserve and propagate this relatively small population of lippizaners around the world, overall up to 10 000 horses. The stud farm Vučijak currently has 149 horses of all age ranges, but there is a tendency to reduce the number of the main herd to about 90 heads for which quality facilities, food and work arrangement will be enabled completely. The reduction of the main herd is done by selling the horses to buyers who are dealing with horse breeding and usage of horses for recreation purposes.
Public utility stud farm Vučijak, the municipality of Prnjavor owns the property (land and ruined construction facilities) on the locality of the stud farm of Lippizaners, which will not serve for the sole horse breeding.
The ruined construction facilities, which have to change their purposes, include:
A stable, which was built in 1949, dimensions about 90m x 15m, built out of solid construction material with a huge attic area;
Three standard facilities for fattening of young cattle, dimensions 50m x 20m;
Two concrete structures for the storage of forage (silage) which functioned during the previous accommodation capacities;
Taking into consideration the future of such facilities that will have an important role in the development of PU stud farm Vučijak and the development and promotion of Lippizaners breeds and horse sports for which this breed is preordained, it was concluded that the facilities above all had to adjust to the needs of the users of services that the stud farm could offer.
PU stud farm Vučijak is a place for developing resources needed for horse sport in BiH, and as such it became an associate member of the Association of equestrian organisations in BiH for FEI disciplines (Olympic discipline in a horse sport).
The geographic position of the stud farm Vučijak provides the same opportunities to all citizens of the region, and the construction of Banja Luka – Doboj motorway has an important role here, which is a guarantee of a good road communication with the stud farm Vučijak, which is located close to the interchange of the said communication.
5. PROJECT DETAILS
5.1 What type of project is it?
5.2 Project status
Business idea
5.3 Reasons to invest in the project
The stud farm Vučijak is the only stud farm in BiH that has big enough population of horses that are protected by the Law on Livestock Production of the Republic of Srpska, has its own property, out of which the land covers the area of 8.5 ha and about 250 ha of meadows and pastures in the procedure of concession settlement, it is located in a very multiethnic area due to which the municipality of Prnjavor got a synonym small Europe, a geographic position is very favorable, the vicinity of the spa Kulaši, it is very rich in fauna and flora, the vicinity of the lake Drenova with the area of 110 ha, hilly and foothill area with many well-organized walking trails and trails for recreation, etc. The said resources are the basics for the development of health and recreation toursim, hunting, fishing, etc. Moreover, the configuration and slope of the region provide for the complete usage of sunlight and the said sunlight is used for the production of electricity by setting solar panels.
Turning the above mentioned ruined facilities in purposeful facilities, first the attic area in the facility number 1, one would ensure accommodation capacities with 120-150 beds (hostel), while turning the three standard facilities into a closed dressage, closed sport fields for mini sports and the construction of tennis field on the existing facilities for silage would provide for the mutual connection of the said facilities. A commercial interest of an investor depends on the percentage of the investor’s share in a reconstruction of the said facilities. In the area of about 50 km there are no hotels that have the accommodation capacities that could satisfy the accommodation needs of bigger groups of tourists.
