General information
Short Summary
A German company is seeking distribution partners for its superinsulation materials for applications in building industry, logistics, liquefied gas, mobility, apparel, energy and many other sectors. The materials are offered in blankets or granules and offer a very high thermal insulation effect for minimal thickness or maximum energy efficiency. The product range covers highly fire- and temperature-resistant materials as well as bio-based materials for improved sustainability.
Full Description
The German company develops and distributes aerogels as super-insulation materials and for other applications. Aerogels offer a very high thermal insulation effect which gives access to very thin or very energy-efficient thermal insulation. The unique pore size distribution in the nanometer range in combination with low density are the foundation of the superinsulation properties.
The German company developed completely new bio-based aerogels which address sustainability requirements and which open up new applications beyond superinsulation that were previously not accessible to aerogel materials e.g. as bio-based carrier materials or formulation additives. The German company also develops next-generation aerogel production technology for lower aerogel cost and improved market uptake.
Aerogel materials are available in particle, board and blanket formats. These can be used in the following areas:
– Thermal superinsulation e.g. for construction, temperature-controlled logistics, liquefied gas, chemical industry, apparel, cooling appliances
– Thermal superinsulation and heat shields for electromobility
– Carrier materials and formulation additives (load and release of liquids, rheology modification) e.g. for cosmetics, food, agriculture, pharma
To demonstrate the effectiveness of aerogel superinsulation, the German company is working on various building showcases. Aerogel particles typically exhibit thermal conductivity in the range of 19-23 mW/(m*K) while aerogel blankets achieve 16-20 mW/(m*K) (at 10°C, depending on the material).
Towards large-scale production of bio-aerogels, the German company recently commissioned the world's largest pilot facility for bio-aerogels. This facility is capable of producing 100-200 liters of bio-aerogel per day. The German company plans own production capacities based on its new technology and also licenses the technology to its partners.
The German company is looking for partners who are active in the wholesale of insulation materials with established contacts in the above-mentioned sectors and for manufacturers or integrators of insulation materials, who need a supplier of superinsulation materials. The German company offers its aerogel expertise from more than a decade of work in the aerogel field across many industries.
Advantages and Innovations
– Best-in-class silica aerogel products
– Completely new bio-aerogel products based on lignin, cellulose, and other bio-based precursors
– Improved biomineral silica aerogel products with improved handling characteristics (low dust)
– Improved sustainability (e.g. CO2 footprint) and recycling options for bio-aerogel products vs. conventional aerogel materials.
– Next-generation aerogel production technology for improved sustainability (energy consumption, waste) and lower cost
